Variety reports that Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious) has been cast in the role of Wonder Woman in the upcoming superhero feature Batman vs. Superman.

Effectively, she joins a cast that includes Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.

While details are slim on Wonder Woman’s involvement and the story itself, director Zack Snyder commented on Gadot’s casting in a statement, “Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role.”

He concludes, “We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”

Batman vs. Superman is being scripted by David S. Goyer from a story he co-created with Snyder. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan and Wesley Coller serving as executive producers.

Batman vs. Superman is slated for a release of July 17th, 2015.

With Iron Man 3 in theaters this weekend, it’s hard to forget that the superhero title for the year is set to be challenged next month by Man of Steel. Highly anticipated and looking to launch an entire connected DC Comics Cinematic Universe, the latest trailer has been beloved and featured quite the extensive look at the reboot. Now a handful of new footage has been revealed tonight as the second TV spot has been officially released.

Over the course of the past six months, the cast has slowly been coming together for Michael Bay’s Transformers 4. While he just claimed a top spot at the box office with a shake up to his pre-Autobot days, the visionary is hard at work assembling a roster of new talent to take the return of the robots to new heights. Now, a man who certainly knows how to play a frightening character has emerged as the head antagonist on the flesh front for the new take on the franchise.

Last year, Seth Grahame-Smith didn’t exactly leave a lasting impression with an adaptation of his hit novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Though it may have seemed great on paper, the feature film simply had audiences laughing as the concept itself seemed too odd. Well, it seems now that won’t stop another one of Grahame-Smith’s novels from making the big screen leap as now another period drama twist is headed our way rising from the script graveyard.

Though the United States version on MTV was cancelled, The Inbetweeners still remains a massive hit that all concluded in a feature film back in 2011. Though there was hesitation regarding a second installment, a sequel was officially put into development last Summer and since then there have been only sporadic updates regarding what’s to come for the final adventure between our title group. Now, after a surfacing of alleged information earlier today it seems we can now expect the next big screen adventure to hit in 2014.
