What is the law?
California has adopted the California Food Handler Card Law pursuant to SB 602 which was enacted into law in 2010.

Who is required to have a food handler card?
All food employees who prepare, store or serve food, must have a California Food Handler Card. This includes servers, chefs, cooks, bartenders, hosts and hostesses who handle food.

How long is the card valid?
Cards are valid for three years from the date of issuance. The employers must keep a copy on file.

Mobile Food Facilities

“VEHICLE INSPECTION PROGRAM”
The inspection is conducted by the County.
This program is responsible for the inspection of various types of Mobile Food Facilities (MFF) including Mobile Food Preparation Units (MFPU), Hot Dog Carts, and Limited Food Vehicles. The Vehicle Inspection Program conducts annual certification inspections; routine graded inspections and complaint inspections of MFFs as well as routine and complaint inspections at the commissaries that service these MFFs.

California Food Manager Certification Program

As a former restaurateur, I know time is an important factor in scheduling a class. Sensitive to this, we can teach at your facility.

To become a certified food manager in compliance with Department of Health requirements, individuals must successfully pass a certification examination administered by any approved Manager Certification Test Provider like Bilingual Food Handlers School .

The Department of Health does not require individuals attend an examination preparation or training course; however, preparation courses, study guides, and other helpful materials are offered by us.

Bilingual Food Handlers School instructors/ Proctors (BFHS) are bilingual in Spanish and English and offer Servsafe and National Registry testing for the California Food Handlers Card.

We are very familiar with the Health Department’s rules and regulations and have plenty of experience in the restaurant business as owners and operators.

Our program provides food safety training, exams and educational materials to foodservice managers. We’re available to visit your restaurant and do a “walk through”, making sure everything is in order and you can take the online certification as well.
